Animal Crossing Wii Case Mod
Valhalla Residents: Opal
Name: Opal
Type: Elephant
Catchphrase: "Snoot"
Birthday: January 20
Opal is another one of my newer residents in Animal Crossing: City Folk. Her character type is snooty, my least favorite trait for the animals in the game. Since I'm not too fond of her, she'll probably never move!
In Opal's defense, she's only the second elephant I've had in an Animal Crossing game, so that makes her presence a little cool.

Valhalla Residents: Del
Name: Del
Type: Crocodile
Catchphrase: "Oh Snap"
Birthday: May 27
This is why I like this type of personality in the game.

Del is one of the longest animals to stick around my town. He's also one of my favorite residents in the game. He's kind of a curmudgeon but I favor the crusty types more than any other in this game. Del is one of the rare animals that I would probably prevent from moving away if I were to catch him in time.
Interesting decorating style by Del. I do like the urinal though. This is why I like this type of personality in the game.

Deep Thoughts by Pascal
Pascal, a sea otter, made a stop in my town last night. For those who don't know (my friend Dann who just got Animal Crossing: City Folk), Pascal can be found randomly hanging out on one of the town bridges. If you have in your possession a scallop, which can be found on the beach, Pascal will give you a special gift, one of six pirate themed pieces of furniture or a pirate themed carpet or wall. With or without the scallop in your inventory, Pascal will impart to you some of his wisdom. He reminds me of a cross between a stoner and a hippie.
Pascal waiting for a scallop.Wow bro! Deep.
Valhalla Residents: Jitters
Name: Jitters
Type: Bird
Catchphrase: "Bzzert"
Birthday: February 2
Jitters is the newest animal to move to Valhalla so I know very little about him so far. In fact I've spoken with him so little that I haven't determined what kind of personality he has (lazy, snooty, etc.) I tend to let my resident move out at their leisure so there's always someone coming and going.
Chillin' at Jitters "nest."

Winter Clothing
I ditched the "Link" outfit I'd been wearing for something more seasonal last night.
Hangin' near my pink cosmo garden. In the art gallery in the museum.
I really dig the hat and the pink shoes but I'm not sure about the sweater. Does anyone have suggestions on a more compatible piece of clothing to go with the hat?
Animal Crossing Blogs
I added a listing of Animal Crossing blogs to this site last night. I'll continue to add more blogs as I find them but the pickings have been pretty slim. While there are a lot of Animal Crossing related blogs to be found, a lot of them have not been updated in a long while or are updated infrequently. Enjoy.

Festival!
The holiday Festival was celebrated in Animal Crossing: City Folk on Monday. I guess the holiday could be best described as something like Festival in Brazil or Mardi Gras here in the U.S. Throughout the day confetti streams down upon the town and a peacock named Pavé appears near the town hall. Basically you can play games of chance with your animals and earn pieces of different colored candy. Once you have three pieces of the same color you can trade them in to Pavé for pieces of the Festival furniture set, ten pieces of furniture, a carpet and wallpaper. Accumulating all the pieces of the furniture set can be time consuming and little tedious as sometimes the color of candy you receive can be random. Luckily I had only three pieces left to complete my collection that I missed last year.
Apparently it's time to party.Pavé the candy greedy peacock.

Valhalla
Valhalla is the name of every town I've ever had in any Animal Crossing game. Why this is so, I cannot remember. My main character in Animal Crossing: City Folk is named Dave. Every picture I've posted in this blog involving in-game play has been with this character. I thought I would take the time today to introduce my other characters. The other three characters in the game are played by me but I usually only use them as mules for storage.
Pooh, my nickname growning up thanks to my brother.
Shippo, one of my favorite characters from Inuyasha.
Pit, the hero from the Kid Icarus game series.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Today really isn't an observed holiday in Animal Crossing: City Folk but it is possible to get a Valentine's Day letter from one of your animals with a chocolate heart attached to it.
The letter I received from Tabby.Chocolate Heart.
On an unrelated note I managed to spawn just my third Blue Rose hybrid.

Settling the Debt
I found this cool picture on an IGN blog today while messing around on the Internet. I've definitely had psychotic feelings for Tom Nook at one time or another in each chapter of the Animal Crossing series, particularly at the outset of most of the games when you're made to be his temporary slave.

Valentine DLC
Today I was visited by Pete the mailman (well actually he's a pelican). He delievered the latest DLC (downloadable content) from Nintendo. The downloads that Nintendo sends over on a regular basis is one of the reasons I continue to come back to this game. See pictures below.
Here's the letter. Here's the Cupid Bench. I also got the Nookington's model today for obtaining enough points from Nook's store, 20,000 points I believe. Also, don't forget to send a letter with a gift to one of your animals of the opposite sex stating, "Will you be my Valentine?" to get a box of chocolate hearts sent back to you on the 14th!

Online Visit From Matt
My friend Matt recently bought a Wii and Animal Crossing: City Folk so we made arrangements for him to visit today.
Not sure why Matt has that look on his face. The house isn't that impressive....Matt said this was gay.
Caught part of the night's meteor shower.
It's all fun and games until someone brandishes an axe!
I made a quick trip to Matt's town. Love the catchphrase he's been teaching the animals!

Animal Crossing Commercials
More YouTube goodness. I remember these commercials on TV around the same time that the original Animal Crossing game was released. It's kind of a spoof on MTV's Real World. Funny and nostalgic.
Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin?
I found this Animal Crossing related video while messing around on YouTube yesterday. There is a whole series of videos like this that can be found at GameTrailers.

Happy Groundhog Day!
Population Growing
On September 15, 2002 I purchased the game Animal Crossing for the Nintendo GameCube. I had eagerly awaited the game's release after reading about it on a Nintendo website (I believe it was the now defunct N64.com which became part of IGN). There was a writer living in Japan who was playing Animal Crossing and posting a daily journal about his experiences on the website. It was informative and hilarious and it read in such a way that I knew I had to have this game when it came out in America.
Fast forward nearly eight years later and I'm still playing one version of Animal Crossing or another at any given time. Currently that would mostly be Animal Crossing: City Folk for the Nintendo Wii. I also spend a little time with the Nintendo DS incarnation, Animal Crossing: Wild World.
I thought it would be fun to create a blog based on all things Animal Crossing. It's a subject matter I'm very interested in and it's brought me tons of amusement over the years. The structure of the blog won't be anything too formal, just random musings, pictures, and tips and tricks about all the games in the Animal Crossing series as well as future information and discussion about any forthcoming installments to the franchise.
Have an amusing story or picture to share? Drop me a line at bitterdavesworld@gmail.com and I'll share that information here. In the meantime, welcome to Population Growing.
